Childhood, play and art are the three main themes of the exhibition "La trottola e il robot (The spinning top and the robot)", in which there are exhibit toys and paintings from the late 19th century to the mid 20th century. We are guided by the curators of the exhibition, Daniela Fonti and Filippo Bacci di Capaci who illustrate the works by placing them in their time and artistic season, and guided also by the pedagogist Gianfranco Staccioli who "dismantles" the mechanism of the game to analyze it in the light of the social context and values psychological aspects it has. In this film, the images of ancient works and toys present in the exhibition are alternated with those in black and white of the audiovisual repertoire that show us our grandparents and great-grandparents intent on playing, inevitably urging childhood memories of each of us.
