In Catania, showed as a suffering and injured city, Giovanni Cutuli survives doing transports, emptying basements, removing engines and selling random stuff. Hard worker and family man, he receives a warrant of eviction and he is forced to vacate the house where he lives with his wife and two children. The main pecularity of Giovanni is to have a questionable but clear opinion about politic and the State’s mafia affairs. It’s hard to agree with him, but his words encourage us to reflect on the city that Giovanni lives, its people, its history of mistakes and removals. The movie is a denunciation of the private interest that too often wins on the rights of the community, and where poor people are always victims.
